Tiana Brown named 2025 Youth of the Year; Julie Dubé and Hannah McCarthy inducted into Hall of Fame

NASHUA, N.H. – The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua proudly named Tiana Brown as its 2025 Youth of the Year at last night’s Youth of the Year & Hall of Fame Celebration. The Club also honored role models Julie Dubé and Hannah McCarthy with Hall of Fame inductions, recognizing their enduring commitment to empowering generations of local youth.

The evening brought Club families, alumni, and supporters together in a joyful celebration of youth achievement. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner featuring food from local restaurants and the Club’s own kitchen, along with frozen treats from a youth-run Camp Mariposa Creamery” Ice Cream Truck. The event also featured bounce houses, temporary tattoos, face painting, an art show, and a spotlight on family support and education programs offered by the Club.

“This event is a powerful reminder of what happens when young people are given the space and support to lead, dream, and thrive,” said Craig Fitzgerald, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua. “The energy and passion in the room tonight speaks to the heart of our mission and the future we’re building together.”

Spotlight on Youth Leadership

The highlight of the night came with the announcement of Tiana Brown as the Club’s Youth of the Year. Tiana, a senior at Nashua High School North, has exemplified leadership, academic excellence, and a commitment to service. She is now preparing to represent the Nashua Club at the State Youth of the Year competition on May 12th.

The Club also recognized six standout members across a range of categories:

  • Junior Youth of the Year: Elijah V.
  • ELC Youth of the Year: Yamiah S.
  • Artist of the Year: Corina C. 
  • Athlete of the Year: Sergio R.
  • Mariposa Camper of the Year: Alanna P.
  • Scholar of the Year: Emiliano C.

These amazing Club members were celebrated for their unique talents, perseverance, and embodiment of the Club’s values.

Honoring Educators Who Inspire

New to this year’s celebration, the Club proudly introduced the Teacher of the Year Awards, recognizing the extraordinary efforts of local educators who go above and beyond in supporting Club youth. After receiving 65 nominations from Club members, the following four teachers were honored for their lasting impact and dedication:

Melissa Hickey, Dr. Crisp Elementary, nominated by Tennison 

Fallon Vigeant, Ledge Street Elementary, nominated by Jeremiah 

Valerie Paquin, Pennichuck Middle School, nominated by Anthony

Jerry Moylan, Nashua High School North, nominated by Aleisha

Club Legends Inducted

The Club proudly inducted two new honorees into its Hall of Fame for their unwavering dedication to youth development:

Julie Dubé, a Club alum and beloved staff leader whose roles included Director of Teen Services and Clubhouse Director. Julie’s tenure saw transformational growth in teen engagement, national recognition for youth leadership programs, and a deep commitment to academic success. She continues her legacy of support today in her work for Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Hannah McCarthy, a supporter of the Club for over 40 years whose unwavering commitment has helped the Club become what it is today. Her service on the Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, and capital campaign committee has left an enduring impact on the Club’s mission and members. Hannah is a fierce advocate for Club kids who knows the importance of making resources and opportunities available to all young people.

“Julie and Hannah represent everything we hope to cultivate in our Club community—dedication, compassion, and an unwavering belief in the potential of young people,” said Fitzgerald. “Their leadership and love for this organization have made a generational impact, and we are proud to honor their legacies.”
