Tiana Brown Named New Hampshire State Youth of the Year

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Tiana Brown, a senior at Nashua High School North and a dedicated member of the Boys & Girls Club for the past 11 years, has been named the 2025 New Hampshire State Youth of the Year. The award was presented during a statewide celebration on May 12 at Southern New Hampshire University, where youth from six Boys & Girls Clubs across New Hampshire were recognized for their leadership, service, and commitment to their communities.

“It feels absolutely amazing to be blessed with this opportunity and I feel so proud of myself and thankful to the Club for turning me into the person I am today,” said Brown. “I’m deeply grateful for everything the Club has provided me. I’m only hoping to continue this journey at regionals and carry the pride and values the Boys and Girls Club has instilled in me.”

An active and engaged Club member since childhood, Tiana has participated in a wide range of leadership and athletic programs and is known for her confidence, charisma, and passion for inclusivity. She plans to attend Endicott College this fall, where she will pursue a degree in nursing and compete on the track team.

Tiana’s journey to becoming the state’s Youth of the Year began on April 23, when she was named Youth of the Year at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua during its Youth of the Year & Hall of Fame Celebration. From there, she advanced to represent her Club at the state level.

On May 7, Tiana’s accomplishments were further recognized when she was honored with a Resolution at the New Hampshire State House, presented and signed by State Senators Kevin Avard and Cindy Rosenwald. During her visit, she toured the State House, explored the state’s history, and learned about upcoming education legislation. Her experience as Youth of the Year continued to evolve that day, as she engaged with state leaders, deepened her understanding of civic responsibility, and reflected on how she could use her voice to inspire change in her community.

The culmination of her journey thus far came on May 12, when she was officially named the 2025 New Hampshire State Youth of the Year. Along with the title, she received a $10,000 scholarship from Boys & Girls Clubs of New Hampshire and a laptop courtesy of Comcast.

In her acceptance speech, Brown reflected on her journey with deep gratitude.

“I just want to say thank you to everyone for coming here today, and to the judges, and to my mentors along the way, and everyone who donates to the Boys & Girls Club and helps us in every single way,” she said. “I could not have done this without the Boys & Girls Club or become the person I am today without them. This means the world to me.”

Janeth Galvez Rosario, Director of Individual and Family Services and an advisor to Brown, praised Brown’s unwavering commitment to service and leadership.

“Tiana exemplifies what it means to lead with heart and purpose,” said Galvez Rosario. “Her dedication to uplifting others and creating a welcoming space for all makes her an extraordinary representative of New Hampshire’s youth. We are so proud of her achievements and excited to see all that lies ahead for her.”

The Youth of the Year program is Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition initiative, celebrating teens who demonstrate outstanding leadership, academic excellence, and a strong commitment to their Club and community. As the New Hampshire State Youth of the Year, Tiana will advance to represent the state at the Northeast Regional Youth of the Year competition, taking place June 17 in New York City.
