Marty Mehron had been an ardent supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua since he first visited the Club in 2009. After hearing of the Club’s efforts to renovate their building and raise $3.5 million dollars, Marty was compelled to stop by for a tour and see for himself the Club’s impact.

His first steps through the Club’s blue doors solidified his commitment. He observed hundreds of kids and teens playing in the games room, participating in sports in the gym, receiving homework help in the education room, and was impressed by what he saw. He also learned that his late wife Helen had been a supporter of the Nashua Boys and Girls Club. From then on, he decided to make a difference in the lives of our youth.

Over the years, Marty made regular donations to the Club in memory of his wife Helen and inspired his five grown children to do the same. He also encouraged those around him to join in his efforts; visiting with neighbors on Alice Drive and motivating them to give by offering to match their donations!  Wanting to ensure the Club would be here for future generations, Marty joined the Heritage Club.  He made the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua the beneficiary of two life insurance policies.

Though Marty passed away in January of 2019, his contributions continue to positively impact our members. In honor of their parent’s dedication to the Club, their children added funds to Marty’s legacy gifts to establish the Martin and Helen Mehron Academic Success Endowment Fund.

Marty’s children said, “We wanted to pay tribute to all that our parents had done for us by establishing a memorial in their name. We are thrilled to contribute to a fund that supports education, since education was very important to our parents. We hope that the children who participate in programs funded by this endowment gain confidence and feel better prepared for the academic challenges they will face.”
