Boys & Girls Club Receives Oracle Community Impact Grant
Prestigious grant awarded to help with Clubhouse renovation and Teen Center project.
NASHUA, NH - The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua has received a prestigious grant from Oracle announced Club CEO, Norm Bouthilette. Oracle is the world's largest enterprise software company and awards Community Impact Grants to deserving non-profits that have a major and positive impact on communities where Oracle has a presence. Oracle made the grant to help the Club meet the challenges of transitioning to a newly renovated facility and Teen Center, which are currently being constructed to accommodate rapidly growing membership, especially teenagers.
“In terms of youth development and community impact, greater Nashua has probably never seen a project like this,” said Bouthilette. “In fact, the innovative recycling of our facility, the creative repurposing of space, and the creation of community meeting rooms for collaborating agencies have attracted statewide and national affirmation of our project. We’ve never worked harder for our kids or been more positive about the outcome. During the transition of the facility, Oracle’s support will help us maintain high quality programs and services for our members and families. We are very grateful for Oracle’s support.”
The Teen Center and Clubhouse Improvement Project will repurpose and modernize the Club’s Grand Avenue facility to serve all members better and to attract more children, especially teens. Improvements will include doubling the education and technology program space for 8 to 12-year olds, modernizing the games room and dining area, bringing in natural light, enhancing the Kid’s Club (ages 5-8), creating meeting rooms for collaborating agencies, and creating a Teen Center with a separate entrance for 13 to 18-year old members.
