Alumni Spotlight
Congratulations, Brendan McLaughlin,
2009 Alumnus of the Year!

Alumnus of the Year,
Brendan McLaughlin

This year’s Alumni of the Year became infatuated with the Club even before he was able to register as a member. Since the age of 4, Brendan McLaughlin has been involved with the Club's pool program.

As a Club member, he could be seen all over the Club, usually in the games room when he wasn't in the pool. He loved spending time playing games and doing challenges, with then Social Recreation Director, Kurt Norris. He enjoyed helping build the Club's Haunted House each year.

Brendan was a member of the Dolphins swim team for nearly 11 years. Brendan qualified for the Boys & Girls Club National Swim Team 9 times, winning the Boys 10 & under National Championship in the 100 butterfly in 1994. He was co-captain of the team in 2000, 2001, and 2002. He also swam as a member of the Nashua High Swim Team. During that time, he set a number of team records including the 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly, all which currently stand.

Brendan joined the Dolphins swim team as an assistant coach in 2004. In the fall of 2007, Brendan was named Head Coach of the Dolphins, a position which he still holds. Brendan is the current Vice Presiden of the Granite State Swim Assocation as well as a 3 year member of the NENEAPC Swim League Coaching staff.

Currently, Brendan is an employee for the United Parcel Service and lives in Merrimack, NH.
